If you are looking for a flavor that tells the story of our land, you have found it!
The Belendina Onion is far more than just a vegetable: it is an icon of biodiversity, wrapped in a distinctive reddish-purple skin and defined by its extraordinary sweetness.
From the Field to Your Home

The Belendina onion once faced the risk of extinction, preserved for decades only within the small vegetable gardens of a few far-sighted farmers in the Piana di Andora.
At PEQ Agri, we have chosen to take part in this "historical recovery."
Traditionally, this onion was grown for family consumption or traded as a precious commodity. Today, thanks to careful seed selection and traditional farming techniques, we bring to your table a product that tastes of the past, delivered with the quality of today.
What makes the Belendina Onion of Andora so special?
Size: It can easily exceed one kilogram (2.2 lbs) in weight. Shape: An elegant flask or "spinning-top" silhouette. Taste: Extremely sweet and crunchy; perfect when enjoyed raw, yet surprising in jams and chutneys.
The Ideal Territory: The Merula Valley
Our Belendina grows right here in Andora, where the Ligurian microclimate plays a fundamental role.
The Soil: The alluvial soils of the plain provide the perfect nourishment. The Air: The sea breeze blowing up the valley mitigates the temperatures, giving the onion a unique sapidity and sweetness that you won't find anywhere else.
Slow Food Pride: Our Commitment
We are proud to cultivate a product protected by the Slow Food Presidium.
Being part of the Presidium is not just a label; it is a promise:
Protecting Biodiversity
We grow according to natural rhythms, without forcing the crops.
Sustainability
We respect the land to ensure that future generations can enjoy its fruits.
Transparency
Every Belendina onion is the result of a rigorous production protocol that certifies its authenticity.
